I came home [late once again…grrr] after a long day of mixed emotions and experiences, not feeling too particularly wonderful about anything. This was in my mailbox. I’m so thankful to have a bestie who knows how to turn my day around with something so simple.

The other day my son was telling me, with quite a bit of surprise in his voice, how he had prayed for God to help him with a difficult conversation with a family member, and He had done exactly that. He was so excited to have had such an intimate interaction with the Father, and that his prayer was really heard and responded to directly. I told him that those are the moments we need to hold onto when other times in life we feel alone and frustrated. I told him about another family who had started a kind of jar-o-praise, as a way to remember those moments a little at a time, and a way to look back on all the good things God had done for them. In response, he immediately asked… “well, do we have a mason jar??”

Yes, good things are ahead indeed.

All kids need is a little inspiration and they can come up with plenty of ideas.

Finally finished our last dose, and I won’t be missing these. It certainly is nice to live in a place where a mosquito bite is an itchy annoyance, not a reason to wonder if your life just became shorter.

Usually I would be a little bit annoyed by my son leaving his stuff lying around everywhere. But I can hardly be upset with stuff like this cluttering up our dining room table. This, my friends, is the good stuff lying around in my life right now.
